Tolerant Networks is a SME developed to commercialising aspects of the Delay-Tolerant Networking (DTN) technology. Tolerant Networks offer general DTN training, from half-day sessions, up to a full-week hands-on course, either at the customers site or in Dublin, Ireland. Tolerant Networks are happy to tailor our existing course materials to your specific needs. Tolerant Networks was founded in April 2010 by Dr. Stephen Farrell and Kerry Hartnett. In eLearning-DTN Tolerant Networks will be work package leader for WP2 DTN Content.


Mr Kerry Hartnett, responsible for WP2 Content

Kerry Hartnett

With over 20 years experience in ICT Kerry Hartnett is an experienced and versatile senior ICT professional. Kerry worked with Intel for 15 years in all aspects of ICT. Commercially aware and results-orientated with a wide range of technical abilities, Kerry's planning and organisational skills have enabled him to repeatedly deliver complex integration projects to schedule. Kerry has a BSc. in Information Systems and is currently working as a research engineer among others on eLearning-DTN. Other Kerry's focuses is on new technology deployment in networks and research.

Dr. Stephen Farrell

Dr. Stephen Farrell is a research fellow in the Distributed Systems Group of the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin, where he teaches and researches on security and delay/disruption-tolerant networking. In 2006 Dr. Stephen Farrell co-authored the first book on the DTN, Stephen has also been involved in internet standards for more than a decade; currently he co-chairs the IETF DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) Working Group, is an invited expert in the W3C Web Security Context group and also co-chairs the IRTF Delay Tolerant Networking Research Group. Prior to returning to academia in 2002, Stephen had 15 years experience in industry, working for Siemens and Baltimore Technologies amongst others.
